Primary Treatment

Our Primary Treatment Centres for adults are based in Cahir, Co. Tipperary and Wexford.
Both Centres provide 28 day residential treatment and a comparable programme, yet each setting has its own unique identity and ambiance.

Our treatment Interventions and Modalities Using the 12 step model

We provide a therapeutic program guided by best practices, rooted in the renowned Minnesota Model of Treatment and underpinned by the philosophy of the 12 Step approach.

Delivered by our highly skilled team of professionals, many of whom have the lived experience of addiction and recovery themselves, we prioritize dignity, self-worth, and the holistic development of each person and consider the emotional, mental, social, recreational, and spiritual needs of each person.

Upon admission to the programme, residents are paired with a dedicated key counsellor who remains their primary point of contact throughout their journey, complemented by constant support from our clinical team.

Our treatment modalities

Our programme is well known for being holistic and creative. We use a range of therapies such as:

1 - 1 counselling, Group Therapy. A range of talk therapies such as CBT, DBT, EMDR & MI.
Holistic Therapies such as yoga, auricular acupuncture, meditation and mindfulness.
Educational Workshops & Lectures on topics such as Coping Skills, Life Skills, Relapse Prevention & Communication Skills.
Understanding the 12 steps workshops, step assignments & life story.
Psychodrama and arts programmes.
Family Days and Family Therapy.
Interagency meetings and conferences.

The Treatment Journey

The treatment journey does not end after the 28 days of Primary Treatment. The 2 year Recovery Support Programme is an essential part of the treatment journey. Your counsellor will discuss this with you and you will be enrolled in this programme before you leave.

Some people may be referred to Secondary Treatment.
